PURPOSE: To prevent the shift of a seat when lock is released by pivotally installing a seat cushion on a basic body fixed on an upper rail and installing a restraining mechanism which restrains the relative shift of the upper and lower rails in interlocking with the releasing operation for seat lock.
CONSTITUTION: As for a seat 10, a seat cushion 20 is supported 18 in turnable manner between a sitting-enabled state and foldable state on the left and right leg parts 16 in pair as the basic body fixed on an upper rail 14 which can be shifted freely along a lower rail 12. When the seat cushion 20 is set into the sitting-enabled state, the seat cushion 20 is locked by a seat locking mechanism 100 including a latch member for engaging a striker 24. Further, the operating rod 42 of a restraining member 40 is pushed down by a cam plate 116, in interlocking with the lock releasing operation by the operating lever 144 of a lock release operation mechanism, and the lower edge part intrudes into an engagement hole 12C on the lower rail 12, and the relative shift between both the rails 12 and 14 is restrained.
