Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a detection function of passengers walking on a passenger conveyor and a function for determining whether passengers are on one side of a passenger conveyor having the size of a footstep which two passengers can get on side by side, at a lower cost than before.SOLUTION: A safety device for a passenger conveyor includes: a first detector (6) for detecting passengers passing by on a traveling direction left side of the passenger conveyor; a second detector (6) for detecting passengers passing by on a traveling direction right side of the passenger conveyor; a pattern generation section (11) for generating first time series data and second time series data on the basis of each detection signal by both of the detectors; and a passenger state determination section (12) for estimating the number of passengers walking in each of right and left traveling directions and the number of passengers standing and stopping on footsteps from the lengths of ON states in the first time series data and the second time series data and estimating a deviation state of passengers by comparing the number of the left side passengers with the number of the right side passengers, which are calculated on the basis of the estimation result.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
