NEW MATERIAL:Saikosaponin a, b1, b2, c, d or h or saikogenin A, C or D or salt thereof.
PREPARATION: Effective to rat adjuvant arthritis and reduced in side effect and useful as remedy, etc., for rheumatism. For example, isopropylidenesaikosaponine, acetylated saikosa ponin, etc., is phosphorylated with a proper phosphorylation reagent, e.g. diphosphoryl chloride or phosphorus oxychloride and the remaining protecting group is removed.
