Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prepare stevioside which is harmless to the body and about ≥300 times as sweet as cane sugar, by extracting Stevia rebaudiana, etc.

CONSTITUTION: Buds and leaves of Stevia, e.g. Stevia rebaudiana, are boiled, washed with water, dried, and extracted, e.g. with chloroform by conventional means to obtain stevioside of the formula.
