PURPOSE: To enable the local sampling of a small tube, and to remarkably reduce the number of man-hours, and to prevent the generation of damage to an equipment.
CONSTITUTION: An elevating mechanism such as a manipulator is operated so as to move a torch 2 close to a small tube 1, and a feeding screw 24 of a lateral position adjusting device 23 is rotated, and a lateral slider 25 fitted to a wire driving unit 8 is moved in the lateral direction, and the position of the wire driving unit 8 in the lateral direction is thereby adjusted, and a feeding screw 27 of a tension adjusting device 14 is rotated. A vertical slider 28, an adjusting device 23, a slider 25 and the wire driving unit 8 are moved in the vertical direction so as to adjust the tension of wires 5, 6 and a chain 9, and a torch 2 is inserted into the sampling position inside of the small tube 1. A motor 20 of the wire driving unit 8 is driven so as to normally and reversely rotate a chain wheel 9a at the speed corresponding to the cutting work condition, and a U-shape electrode is oscillated, and furthermore, the pressurized water is discharged to the cutting work part. Electric discharge machining is thereby performed between the small tube 1 and the U-shape electrode, and sampling of the small tube 1 is performed.
