Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a scattering material for weeding capable of exterminating weeds and suppressing the growth (proliferation) of weeds absolutely without using chemicals and provide a weeding method with the weeding material.
SOLUTION: A proper amount of a scattering material 1 for weeding produced by mixing natural salt and volcanic ash heat-treated at a high temperature is uniformly scattered on an arbitrary place (e.g. garden or cemetery). The soil is acidified by the synergistic action of the sterilized volcanic ash 2 and the natural salt 3 to almost completely exterminate microorganisms in the soil and inhibit the intake of nutrition necessary for the growth of weeds. The growth of weeds is suppressed according to the lapse of time to effect the withering of the weeds and, accordingly, weeds can be exterminated and the growth (proliferation) can be suppressed absolutely without using chemicals such as agrochemicals and herbicides.
