To provide: a scraper unit with a structure to effectively suppress growth of a crystal layer on a cooling surface; a crystallizer of methacrylic acid with which elevation of a degree of supersaturation in a crystallization tank having the unit and precipitation of crystals to the bottom of the tank are suppressed; and a crystallization method of methacrylic acid using the crystallizer.
The crystallizer including the scraper unit 8 for the crystallizer is provided. The the scraper unit 8 includes: a scraper blade 21 to scrape the crystals deposited on the inner surface of the crystallization tank; a scraper blade holder 17 which has a blade supporting part supporting the blade and an arm linking part; and a spring type pressing device 18 which presses the blade against the inner surface of the crystallization tank via the holder, wherein the supporting part and the linking part, the supporting part and the pressing device, and the pressing device and the arm are respectively movably linked with each other.
