In a paving machine including a screed 50 towed by a vehicle body 10 to level an asphalt composite, and a lift cylinder 20 for lifting up and down the screed 50, a tip portion of the lift cylinder 20 being connected to the screed 50 through a rockable plate 40, the plate 40 has a mounting hole 41 bored at one end portion of the outer circumference thereof, and a plurality of pin holes 42 and 43 separately bored at the other end part of the outer circumference. The plate 40 is pivotally fixed to a side surface of a bracket 51 of the screed 50 by inserting a fixture 44 to the mounting hole 41, and a tip portion of a rod 21 of the lift cylinder 20 is connected to the pin hole 42 higher in level of position of the plurality of pin holes.
