To provide a screw type clamp for allowing easy confirmation of a working limit due to wear.
The screw type clamp 10 comprises a clamp body 11 having a pair of leg portions opposed to each other across an opening portion 14, a bearer 16 rotatably and replaceably mounted on one leg portion, and a fastening bolt 19 threaded through the other leg portion. It lifts up a lifted cargo W being clamped between the bearer and at the front end of the fastening bolt. A plurality of annular engaging teeth 15 are formed concentrically on the front end face of the bearer which contacts the lifted cargo, and wear checking grooves 28 is formed at a predetermined depth V by partially cutting the mountains of the annular engaging teeth. The wear checking groove is radially arrayed crossing the annular engaging teeth. The depth of the wear checking grooves is determined depending on the working limit, therefore allowing easy visual check that the bearer reaches the working limit when the wear checking grooves disappear.
