To provide a scroll type compressor capable of using a little small size round bar in the material of a main shaft and reducing a material cost.
The scroll type compressor comprises a fixed scroll erecting a spiral first lap at an end plate having a discharge port; a revolving scroll erecting a spiral second lap, forming a compression chamber by engaging it with the first lap, at an end plate opposed to the fixed scroll; a frame axially supporting the revolving scroll; an Oldham's ring to prevent rotation of the revolving scroll; a crank shaft 5 to swing and drive revolving scroll; a flange part 6 formed at one end part of the crank shaft and in a position corresponding to the end part of the frame; and the main shaft 8 rotationally driven by an electric motor. The scroll type compressor is formed that the flange part consists of a groove 6a formed in the periphery of the main shaft and a C-ring 6b formed in a C-letter-form state and securely inserted in the groove.
