To provide a seal assembly inserted between two relating rotatable members with cleaning fluid.
The seal assembly includes: a first rigid shield having an annular sealing member; and a second rigid shield mounted on the first rigid shield, and having respective sliding surfaces for first and second annular sealing lips of the annular sealing member. The first and second sealing lips exert sealing pressure in an axial direction and pressure in a radius direction. The first sealing lip has a radial seat for housing a toroidal spring on an opposite side to the second annular sealing lip. The spring exerts a radial thrust eccentrically with respect to an elastic hinge on the first sealing lip. A root portion is formed between annular recesses of the annular sealing member. The annular recesses have U-shaped radial sections, and bottom walls facing with each other. The bottom walls are aligned along a line connecting the first and second sealing lips. The second sealing lip has a V-shaped sealing edge defined by an undulated circumferential groove.
