PURPOSE: To improve reliability of sealing by coating the endfaces and the peripheral parts of the electrodes having porosity while piling fluoric resin films having different melting points for sealing by thermal pressure-sticking at an intermediate temperature of the respective melting points.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel electrode 2 and an oxidant electrode 3 closely sticked respectively to the ribbed electrode submaterials 4 and 5 are arranged on both sides of matrix layer 1 while sealing the respective end-faces and the peripheral parts 3a, 5b, 3b and 5c with fluoric resin films 9 for forming a fuel cell. Thereby, each sealing part is firstly coated with a fluoric resin film 12 having a low melting point followed by being over and above doubly coated with the fluoric resin film 13 having a high melting point for being formed while being pressed at an intermediate temperature of both resin melting points and thermally pressure-sticked. Accordingly, the lower layer film 12 is nicely sticked by melting while being adjusted to the surface unevenness and the upper layer film 13 is closely sticked to the film 12 for preventing gas leakage and prforming sure sealing.
