Abstract:
To improve a sealing capability of a sliding surface between a contact surface of a seal lip and a sealing surface of a sealing ring; to prevent wear of them by reducing sliding resistance.
The seal unit comprises a sealing ring 11 having a sealing surface 11B at its end, and an end face seal 2 having a seal lip 3 firmly making contact with the sealing surface 11B projecting from an end opposite to the sealing ring 11. Seal dimples pumping fluid to be sealed are formed on a contact surface 3A keeping in contact with the sealing surface 11B of the seal lip 3 or the sealing surface 11B of a seal portion 10.
