Abstract:
To improve seal performance in an environment where a lubricant cannot be used or a lubrication condition is severe.
The seal arranged in a space where a rotating shaft 1 and a housing 2 are confronted with each other to axially partition the space into two spaces is provided with an annular core 4 attached to the housing 2, and an elastic body 5 fitted to the annular core 4 and having lips 6 and 7 slidably abutting on to the rotating member as its inner peripheral parts. At least, a slidably abutting part of the lips 6 and 7 is set to have durometer hardness (HD) of 30-90.
