PURPOSE: To obtain a sealing material, containing an inorganic component containing rock wool, etc., and organic component containing a modified silicone resin, etc., at a specific ratio and improved in fire, flame and fouling resistance, coating suitability, etc.

CONSTITUTION: The objective sealing material obtained by preparing (A) an inorganic component containing (i) preferably 5-50wt.% rock wool having 70-200μm fiber length, (ii) preferably 5-15wt.% inorganic calcining accelerator consisting of montmorillonite, sepiolite, wollastonite and glass fiber, etc., and (iii) preferably 20-40wt.% inorganic flame retardant consisting of calcined gypsum, alum, calcium carbonate, aluminum hydroxide, etc., and (B) an organic component containing (i) preferably 30-60wt.% modified silicone resin and (ii) preferably 15-30wt.% plasticizer consisting of a phthalic acid, phosphoric acid, fatty acid esters, aromatic hydrocarbons, etc., so as to provide ≥0.8 weight ratio of the components (A/B).
