Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject fabric capable of providing an artificial fur closely resembling a sealskin cloth or a chinchilla which is the highest class product of fur.

CONSTITUTION: The characteristic of this sealskinlike napped fabric comprises 5-15% difference between highly shrinkable polyester-based fiber 2 in shrinkage factor in boiling water and a low shrinkable polyester-based fiber 3, 15-40% difference between the highly shrinkable polyester-based fiber and the low shrinkable polyester-based fiber in dry heat shrinkage factor at 160°C ≥5% respective numbers of naps in the low shrinkable polyester-based fiber and the highly shrinkable polyester-based fiber based on the total number of naps and a larger number of crimps at the roots of the napped fibers than that at the tips.
