Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which eliminates filter clog that causes an obstacle for any system and settles a slurry clarification countermeasure for an ultraviolet sterilization device.SOLUTION: A cyclone separator body 1 comprises a stationary impeller 3-1 and is provided with a separation inner cylinder 6 and a sedimentation tank 2 at the bottom. Water introduced into the separator body from a ballast water inlet pipe 4 is changed into a swirling flow by the stationary impeller to turn to the bottom sedimentation tank while swirling along the inner wall of the separator body. The ballast water has such a structure as to increase a flow speed and obtain a large centrifugal force when passing the stationary impeller. A solid material in seawater is separated to the inner wall side by this centrifugal force and then descends along this inner wall to descend into the bottom sedimentation tank. A swirling flow at the body center becomes purified clean water and is therefore fed to a sterilizer via the separation inner cylinder 6 and a ballast water outlet pipe 5.
