Abstract:
To provide a solution for supporting independent encryption for an MeNB and an SeNB.SOLUTION: A secondary base station (SeNB 30) in a communication system having a dual connectivity configuration receives, from a master base station (MeNB 20), a second base station key which the MeNB 20 derived from a first base station key (S15). The second base station key is used as a third base station key for deriving a UP key used for protecting a U-plane (UP) between a UE 10 and the SeNB 30. Algorithm information for encryption is transmitted to the UE 10 via the MeNB 20 (S13 and S16) so that the UE 10 derives the UP key by negotiation with the MeNB 20, and UP traffic with the UE 10 is confidentially protected using the UP key.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
