Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a security thread sensor for paper sheets, etc., which can stably work despite such environmental changes as the temperature and humidity as well as the secular change of the sensor.
CONSTITUTION: A detector part 10 detects the electrostatic capacity change of each part of the paper sheet carried through a resonance circuit and then detects the envelope of output voltage corresponding to the detected electrostatic capacity change. Then a deciding/controlling part 30 detects the security thread of the paper sheet based on the envelope pattern and decides the authenticity of the paper sheet. Under such conditions, the part 30 measures the temperature and the humidity before the detecting operation of the part 10 and controls the oscillation frequency of the voltage supplied to the part 10 against the measured temperature and humidity. At the same time, the part 30 corrects various types of parameters of the signal processing, etc., carried out for decision.
