PURPOSE: To precisely align seedlings on a dividing plate by transferring the seedlings on the dividing plate of a slow speed dividing plate-carrying device, the seedlings being fallen from the carrying end of the seedling-carrying device for carrying the seedlings in the fallen posture.

CONSTITUTION: Seedlings A are carried with a seedling-carrying device comprising a rubber belt 5 having many projections 6 attached to the outer surface thereof, raised with a disk 3a at the carrying end of the carrying device and subsequently fallen on the dividing plate 24 carried with a dividing plate-carrying device 2. When the carrying rate of the dividing plate-carrying device is set to a lower rate than that of the seedling-carrying device and the ratio of the rates is made constant, the seedlings are precisely aligned on the dividing plate in a state that the intervals of the seedlings are packed.
