To increase recognizability of a tab for improving operability in a tab selecting operation device for automobile use and the like having a small display means.

This tab selecting operation device displaying a matching selection candidate after selection of a tab representing the item type for selection of a desired item is provided with a basic tab display means displaying a predetermined number of basic tabs, a display switching means used for switching operation of the displayed basic tab, and a display object changing means switching the basic tab displayed by the basic tab display means when the display switching means is operated.
