PURPOSE: To contrive the improvement of a yield in a visual selection of pellets by a method wherein the element pellets enlarged to a conductor sheet are electrically selected whether they are a non-defective or a defective and at the same time, non-defective pellets selected are extracted and conveyed.

CONSTITUTION: Pellets 1 subjected to surface mounting to a wafer are diced on scribing lines and these pellets are adhered on a conductor sheet 2. Then, the conductive sheet 2, which is broken and enlarged to a sheet, is fixed on rings 3. Then, the rings 3 are connected to a GND 4, probes 5 are brought into contact to pads on each pellet 1 turned into a single element, a power supply and a signal are fed to the internal circuit of the pellet to actuate the internal circuit and the good or bad of the pellet 1 is electrically selected. Moreover, the pellets 1 selected as a non-defective are handled by a lifting handler 6 and are conveyed to the following assembly process. Thereby, the improvement of a yield in a visual selection of the pellets is contrived.
