Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enhance the erasability of handwriting and the removability of stain by adding a grinding agent and a copolymer of ethylene or propylene and a carboxylic group, a hydroxyl or a substance having an acid anhydride ring to a thermoelastic elastomer in the subject composition used in a grinding agent-containing rubber eraser.
CONSTITUTION: A grinding agent such as carborundum is dispersed in a thermoelastic elastomer of styrene, and at the same time, a specific copolymer is added to form a self-consuming grinding composition. This specific copolymer is a copolymer with ethylene or propylene and a carboxylic group, a hydroxyl or a substance having an acid anhydride ring. That is, the specific copolymer is a copolymer obtained by graft-polymerizing an ethylene-acrylate copolymer, an ethylene-vinylalcohol copolymer and polyethylene with maleic anhydride. Thus the adhesive property between thermoelastic elastomer and a grinding agent is improved.
