Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive light-emitting device with bright image quality and an electric appliance including the light-emitting device.SOLUTION: A light-emitting device comprises a pixel portion and a driver circuit on one insulator. The pixel portion and the driver circuit are all formed using n-channel type semiconductor elements, so that their manufacturing processes are simplified. Since a light-emitting element provided for the pixel portion emits light in a direction away from the insulator, almost the entire pixel electrode (corresponding to a cathode of an EL element) serves as an effective light emission region. Therefore, the light-emitting device can be provided that is inexpensive and has bright image quality with a display region in which the area of the pixel electrode is effectively utilized.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
