To provide a semiconductor laser device with a build-in laser driver therein which can promote miniaturization, thinning and cost reduction of an equipment using a laser device.
A semiconductor laser element 1, a laser driver 2 for driving the laser element and a signal detection part 3 for carrying out photoelectric conversion are fixed onto a common mount surface 60a of a lead frame 6 and stored in a common package 12. A hologram element 4 which transmits laser light 15 emitted by the laser element 1 toward a record medium and diffracts laser light 16 reflected by the record medium toward the signal detection part 3 is provided above the laser element 1. The laser driver 2 and the signal detection part 3 are disposed in opposite positions regarding an optical axis of the laser element 1.
