Title:
SEMICONDUCTOR LIGHT-EMITTING DEVICE AND LIGHT SOURCE UNIT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2014003283
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a small-sized semiconductor light-emitting device that allows controlling light distribution characteristics at low cost and to provide a light source unit.

A semiconductor light-emitting device includes: a semiconductor layer having a first surface and a second surface on the opposite side of the first surface, and including a light-emitting portion and a non-light-emitting portion; a p-side electrode provided on the second surface of the light-emitting portion; and an n-side electrode provided on the second surface of the light-emitting portion. The semiconductor light-emitting device further includes a resin layer that is provided on the first surface, transmits the emitted light of the light-emitting portion, has an upper surface opposite to the first surface and four side surfaces provided along the outer edge of the first surface and connected to the upper surface, and contains a scattering material scattering the light emitted from the light-emitting portion.
