Title:
SENSOR FUSION ALGORITHM OF HAND-HELD CONTROLLER INCLUDING FORCE SENSING RESISTOR (FSR)
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2023171887
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
To provide an improved controller capable of improving a VR system and easily improving user operation since an existing controller having a force sensing resistor (FSR) tends to show a considerably rough response curve because of a material used for the structure and hence is not appropriate for a VR application.SOLUTION: In a system, a controller body has a handle, a control, an FSR, and an array of proximity sensors dispersed spatially onto the handle, an instruction is executed by at least one processor, and allows the size of a hand for gripping the handle to be determined at least partially on the basis of proximity data provided by the array of proximity sensors, and adjusts a threshold and generates the adjusted threshold at least partially on the basis of the hand size, and the adjusted threshold corresponds to a specific amount of force of a grip of the handle, or pressing force of the control for obtaining a result of an FSR input event.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 24
