Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a separation method of an aromatic hydrocarbon from a non-aromatic hydrocarbon.

CONSTITUTION: This separation method of a mixture of an aromatic hydrocarbon and non-aromatic hydrocarbon into an aromatic hydrocarbon-enriched stream and non-aromatic hydrocarbon-enriched stream comprises (a) the process of bringing the mixture of the aromatic hydrocarbon and non-aromatic hydrocarbon into contact with one side of a sulfonated polysulfone membrane, and (b) the process of selectively permeating the aromatic hydrocarbon component through the membrane.
