Title:
SEPARATOR MATERIAL FOR SOLID ELECTROLYTE TYPE FUEL CELL AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3447019
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the separator material excellent in respective characteristics by letting the material be composed of a specific heat resistant metal, and of ceramics, letting the volume ratio of the former be specified into a matrix, letting the latter exist as the disperse phase, and letting the relative density of the material be equal to or more than 90%.
CONSTITUTION: The material shall be a complex where the complex is composed of a heat resistant metal A containing at least one kind of a heat resistant alloy selected out of a nickel group alloy, a cobalt group alloy and an iron group alloy, and of ceramics B, and the volume ratio of the metal A is 20 to 60%. For example, an inconel alloy 600 is applied as the metal A, and as the ceramics B, aluminum powder whose grain size is 0.1m is mixed with the inconel alloy 600, molded in the cold by press under the hydrostatic pressure of 1 to 2ton/cm2, sintered at 1350°C under a nitrogen environment thereafter, and thereby formed into the complex. In the complex, alumina ceramics exist as the disperse phase, and the alloy exists as a matrix. Therefore, the complex is high in electrical conductivity and bending strength, and its thermal expansion characteristics are almost identical to that of a solid electrolyte, so that the complex is thereby suitable as the separator material.
