Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prepare a culture medium which enables mammalian cells to grow and induce differentiation without use of serum and to provide a method for producing a substance through mammalian cell culture using the medium.
CONSTITUTION: This culture medium is prepared is prepared by adding 0.01 to 100μg/ml genglioside to a serum-free basal culture medium for mammalian cells. The medium can induce the differentiation of mammalian cells to enhance the potency of substance production. The culture medium is used instead of the serum-free medium to allow the cells to produce the target substance, which is collected from the culture mixture.
