Abstract:
To provide a sewing system that, even if a part of a workpiece to be sewn hangs down during transportation, the workpiece to be sewn can be prevented from being caught on a positioning section.SOLUTION: A sewing system 1 comprises a sewing machine 2, a robot arm 4A, and a positioning unit 27. The sewing machine 2 can sew a workpiece to be sewn 90B. The robot arm 4A comprises a holding section 46 and can transport the workpiece to be sewn 90B. The positioning unit 27 is used for positioning the workpiece to be sewn 90B against a lower feed plate 25B. The sewing system 1 comprises a covering unit 28 and a drive unit 281. A CPU, which supervises and controls the sewing system 1, drives a drive unit 281 to move the covering unit 28 to a covering position that covers an upper side of the positioning unit 27 when the holding unit 46 holds the workpiece to be sewn 90B and moves to an upper position, and to move the covering unit 28 to an exposed position that exposes an upper side of the positioning unit 27 when the holding unit 46 reaches the upper position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
