Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the maximum operating efficiency when a Diesel engine is decelerated by coupling a fluid joint between the engine and a generator, and minimizing the slip rate of the joint when the rotating speed of the engine is low. CONSTITUTION:Power accelerated and transmitted via a chain or a belt 3 to the output shaft 2 of a Diesel engine 1 is controlled by a fluid joint 4 at the constant rotating speed, and a generator 5 is driven by the output shaft of the joint 4. When the rotating speed of the engine 1 is relatively low, the slip rate of the joint 4 is designed to the minimum.
