PURPOSE: To provide a sham running device capable of running a sham running body by moving its legs.

CONSTITUTION: Magnetic poles of an electromagnet 22 are switched, from (a) to (b) in Figure, to move a foreleg 12 realizing the condition shown in (c). Magnetic poles of an electromagnet 21 are switched, from (c) to (d), to move a hind leg 14 realizing the condition shown in (e). The above steps are repeated, to make a sham running body 10 run in a field 20. Electromagnets 21,... are attached to an endless belt 20c and sent one after another in the direction of movement of the sham running body 10.
