To provide a shape correcting device and a shape correcting method which correct varied deformation into a good shape.

The shape of a workpiece is corrected with a shape correcting device 1. The shape correcting device 1 includes: a correcting die 2 which is provided with a pair of dies 2A, 2B for holding the workpiece W between them and correcting the shape, the dies 2A, 2B being formed with separating parts 10A, 10B respectively which situate away from the held workpiece; and forcing parts 4A, 4B which are provided in the separating parts respectively and deform the workpiece alternately to the normal shape, the workpiece being separated from the separating parts, while changing a pressing direction to the workpiece and gradually reduce the amount of forcing of each alternate forcing.
