Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize a shared buffer by speedily discovering the occurrence of output port abnormality.
SOLUTION: Concerning a shared buffer managing system for receiving input data from input ports through a buffer 3 shared by output ports and transmitting these data to the output ports while having input ports 1-1 to 1-N and output ports 2-1 to 2-M and setting arbitrary number of connections 5-1 to 5-L between the input ports and the output ports, continuous acquisition number counters 4-1 to 4-L receive data to the respective connections, are turned to +1 when using the buffer, transmit data and made into zero-clear when releasing the buffer 3. A comparing means 9 compares a preset continuous acquisition threshold value 7 with the value of the continuous acquisition number counter and when the value of the continuous acquisition number counter exceeds the continuous acquisition threshold value 7, data reception to that connection is stopped and when the value of the continuous acquisition number counter gets less than the continuous acquisition threshold value 7, the data reception to that connection is started again.
