PURPOSE: To keep carrying speed of a paper sheet constant by arranging a speed detecting means to detect carrying speed of a carrying object of a sheet carrying device and an acceleration control means to vary acceleration of an actuating piece, and controlling a change in the carrying speed by a difference in a surface condition by a kind of paper sheet and an environmental condition.
CONSTITUTION: Carrying speed of a paper sheet 11 is detected by a detecting circuit part 4, and a detecting signal is outputted to a control operation part 5. The control operation part 5 compares the detecting signal from the detecting circuit part 4 with a reference signal preset in the control operation part 5, and when there is a difference, it changes acceleration of an actuating piece 13 through a piezoelectric element 12, and optimizes the carrying speed. In this way, the carrying speed of the paper sheet 11 is detected, and since driving control of the actuating piece 13 is performed according to its result, even if a friction coefficient between the actuating piece 13 and the paper sheet 11 changes by a difference in a surface condition by a kind of paper sheet 11 and a difference in a temperature and humidity, the carrying speed of the paper sheet 11 can be kept constant.
