To reduce the volume of impact sound to be generated when a document discharged by a document discharging member slips down in a direction opposite the discharge direction and collides with an end wall.
When a document D conveyed in a conveyance passage is discharged on a document stacking tray 30 by a document discharging member 28, the document D slips down in the direction opposite the discharging direction on a document stacking part 31 of the document stacking tray 30. An end wall 32 is arranged on the downstream side in the sheet slipping direction in the document stacking tray 30. On the end wall 32, a linear contact projection 32k is arranged in the vertical direction, which is to be brought into contact with a portion of the edge positioned in the slipping direction in the document D. The linear contact projection 32K is arranged in a position closer to one side edge than the central part in the width direction orthogonal to the sheet discharge direction so that the document D in contact therewith turns around a position in contact with the linear contact protrusion 32k on the document stacking part 31.
