Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet discriminating system having improved discrimination performance and excellent in reliability and an image forming device by temporarily stopping a conveyed sheet, and reading a discrimination mark applied on the sheet.
SOLUTION: When a lever type sensor 42 in front of a resist roller 40 is turned on at a conveyance path section conveying an OHP sheet to an image formation section, it detects the arrival of the OHP sheet, and the OHP sheet conveyed to form a resist loop is stopped by the nip section of the resist roller 40. A mark on the OHP sheet is detected by a transmission type sensor 41 which is a discrimination mark reading means arranged near the nip section of the resist roller 40, and the surface or back face of the OHP sheet is discriminated. The discrimination mark applied to the OHP sheet is read out while the OHP sheet is stopped by the resist roller 40, the discrimination mark can be surely read out, and the transmission type sensor 41 is not required to be a high-performance one.
