PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly feed a sheet whose rear surface has been already printed.SOLUTION: A sheet feeding method for a sheet-fed printer which discharges air from air nozzles (7a, 7b, 7c, 7d, 7e, 7f, 7g) to a heap of sheets (p) when feeding the sheets (p) which are stacked in a heap and whose rear surfaces have been already printed to a printing part (26) in the order from the top layer to the lower layer, obtains in advance the correlation between the average value of a pattern area rate measured for each prescribed width in the sheet feeding direction and the opening degree of a valve for obtaining the flow rate of the air necessary for proper sheet feeding, sets the opening degree of the valve by collating the average value of the pattern area rate for the sheets (p) to be supplied this time with the correlation, and feeds the sheets while discharging the air with the flow rate according to the opening degree of the valve from the air nozzles (7a, 7b, 7c, 7d, 7e, 7f, 7g).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
