To reduce power consumption and stabilize a working by reducing the attraction force of a solenoid for driving and locking a movable guide member having a large set swing angle.
An apparatus is equipped with a link mechanism comprising a first arm 271 fixed to an end of a rotational shaft of movable guide members 27 for switching the feeding path of a paper sheet S, a second arm 272 swingably supported by a support shaft 274, and a link portion which is implanted at a tip of the second arm 272 and engageably fitted in an elongated groove portion forming in the first arm 271, and a solenoid SD2 for driving the second arm 272 swingably. When the solenoid SD2 is not operated, the movable guide members 27 are kept locked by the link mechanism so that a sheet can be passed through a first feeding path, and when current is supplied to the solenoid SD2, the lock of the movable guide member 27 is released so that a sheet can be passed through a second feeding path.
