To miniaturize a device, to keep it at low cost, and to easily perform recording on various kinds of sheet materials under optimum conditions.
A photo deck 100 having a photo tray 200 is mounted on an upper part of a feed tray 3 of an ink-jet printer. A sheet material for photographic recording different from a sheet material 1 on the feed tray 3 is loaded on the photo tray 200. The kind of the sheet material 1 on the feed tray 3 is determined by a sheet kind determination sensor 4 at a retracting position of the photo tray 200, and the sheet materials are separated one by one by a separation feeding means to be fed to a recording part 2. When a rotating knob is rotated and the photo tray 200 is moved to a feeding position, the sheet material for photographic recording on the photo tray 200 is inserted between the sheet kind determination sensor 4 and the separation feeding means, and the sheet material 1, its kind is determined by the sheet kind determination sensor 4, and the sheet materials are separated one by one by the separation feeding means to be fed to the recording part 2.
