To provide a sheet post-processing apparatus, which can be used by being combined even with an image forming apparatus of a form in which a sheet leading edge part partially protrudes from a housing when a printed sheet is discharged into the housing, and which does not spoil beauty, and to provide the image forming apparatus having such a small footprint that the sheet leading edge part partially protrudes therefrom.
This sheet post-processing apparatus comprises: a conveyance passage receiving and conveying a recording medium discharged from a first sheet discharge means of an image forming apparatus with which the sheet post-processing apparatus is combined; a post-processing part provided along the conveyance passage and performing the post-processing of the recording medium; a recording medium retreating part for receiving a leading edge part of the recording medium discharged from a second sheet discharge means of the image forming apparatus with which the sheet post-processing apparatus is combined; and an opening and closing member provided at the recording medium retreating part along the accommodation direction of the recording medium.
