Abstract:
To provide a sheet processing apparatus capable of increasing the maximum number of bindable sheets in a configuration where a sheet bundle which remains adhered to a pressure bonding member after needless binding is released from the pressure bonding member.SOLUTION: A binding unit 102 which performs needless binding comprises a binding part 47 which sandwiches a sheet bundle by a pressure bonding tooth 471 and a pressure bonding teeth 472 in a thickness direction to pressure-bond the sheet bundle, a movement mechanism which movably supports the binding part 47 between a binding position where the sheet bundle is bound and a first retreating position outside a conveying region of the sheet for avoiding interference with a binding unit which performs needle binding, and a movement mechanism which movably supports an upper scraper 481 and a lower scraper 482 between a releasing position of the pressure bonding teeth 471 and the pressure bonding teeth 472 in a separation state and a second retreating position separated from the releasing position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
