PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet processing device which enables a processed object to be placed at a proper position of a placement part, and to provide a sheet processing method.SOLUTION: A sheet processing device 100 includes: a sheet processing part which processes a transferred sheet S; a placement part 2 in which a processed object Q obtained by processing conducted by the processing part is placed; a discharge part 30 which discharges the processed object Q from the processing part to the placement part 2; and a control part 45 which controls discharge speed of the processed object Q discharged by the discharge part.
