Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separate rollers of a pair of separation rollers from each other before a cassette storing sheets is taken out to prevent tearing off of the sheet while it is caught between the pair of separation rollers.
SOLUTION: This sheet supply device 240 is provided with a sheet loading means 101 which loads sheets and can be inserted into and detached from a case body, an engaging member 108 on the sheet loading means which is engaged with a hold member 105e provided in the case body and holds an insertion condition of the sheet loading means, a pair of separation rollers 123, 124 separating sheets when the sheets are fed in an overlapped condition from the sheet loading means inserted into the case body, roller pair separation means 2, 128, 126 separating rollers of the pair of separation rollers from each other, and an external operation member 104 which is provided in the case body, moves by external operation, operates the roller pair separation means to separate the rollers from each other, and then removes the engaging member 108 from the hold member 105e.
