Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet transportation device, maintaining a separation performance of double feeding originals at a high level for an extended period by recovering a surface state of a separation roller at a proper timing.SOLUTION: A cleaning member 19 cleans a separation roller 6 that has been separated from a transportation roller 5 and shifted to a lower limit position. A control part 110 executes a cleaning mode in which a separation part shifting mechanism 18 is controlled to shift the separation roller 6 to the lower limit position for cleaning with the cleaning member 19, so that a surface property of the separation roller 6 is recovered. The separation part shifting mechanism 18 also has a configuration in which a pinching pressure is adjusted to avoid double feeding.
