Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a press contacting pressure between a transportation roller and a separation roller in accordance with dropping of a friction coefficient between both rollers.SOLUTION: An automatic original transportation device, if a rotation detection means detects that a separation roller 6 is slave-rotated following a transportation roller against a torgue limiter in the middle of increase of a press contacting pressure after the transportation roller 5 and the separation roller 6 are separated and made to press contact, increases the press contacting pressure by a predetermined press, with that press contacting pressure as a reference. Thus, the press contacting pressure, when the separation roller starts to be slave-rotated following the transportation roller, is a press contacting pressure that corresponds to a friction between the rotating bodies, with a predetermined pressure amount allowed to be increased further at that time point. Since a sheet transportation device adjusts press contacting pressure by making the rotating bodies directly contact each other, detection precision for dropping of a friction force is improved. A separation precision of double feeding sheets can be improved by adjusting the press contacting pressure between the rotating bodies to be an optimum press contacting pressure.
