Abstract:
PURPOSE: To beforehand prevent the occurrence of binding failure by detecting unevenness of sheets.
CONSTITUTION: A stapling device 12 binds sheets housed in a sorting bin 11 by approaching either of notch parts 15, 16 and 17 by a moving motor 21. A sheet sensor detects whether or not the sheets housed in the sorting bin 11 protrude from a prescribed position at approaching time by the notch parts. When they protrude, it discriminates that the sheets are uneven, and operation of the stapling device 12 is prohibited.
