Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber capable of discharging gas in a cylinder to the outside of the cylinder even when the shock absorber is an upright type.SOLUTION: A shock absorber D includes a cylinder 3 connected to a wheel side, a liquid chamber P which is formed in the cylinder 3 and is filled with working liquid, an annular rod guide 30 which is fixed to the cylinder 3 and blocks a car body side of the liquid chamber P and a piston rod 4 which is connected to the car body side, penetrates the rod guide 30 and moves in and out of the cylinder 3. Therein, an annular seal member C1 which is retained to the inner circumference of the rod guide 30 and is brought into sliding contact with the outer circumferential surface of the piston rod 4 and a relief means A1 which is formed on the outer circumference of the piston rod 4 and performs relief when the piston rod 4 is retired from the cylinder 3 by a prescribed amount.
