Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shrinkage measuring apparatus which can measure shrinkage of a molten material in a cavity at the time of coagulation thereof.SOLUTION: A shrinkage measuring apparatus 1 is equipped with: a probe 15 which is located in a cavity 2; a fitting shaft part 16 and a main shaft part 17 which integrally extend from the probe 15 into a wall part 2a of a metal mold 2 through an opening 10 which is smaller than the probe 15 and which are movable in an axial direction; a compression coil spring 18 which is located in the wall part 2a of the metal mold 2 and so energizes the probe 15 as to block the opening 10; and a measurement part 19 which is connected to the main shaft part 17 and measures an axial direction displacement magnitude of the main shaft part 17 in association with displacement of the probe 15 when compressed. An energization force of the compression coil spring 18 is smaller than a shrinkage force of a molten material when coagulated, and therefore, shrinkage of the molten metal in the cavity at the time of coagulation thereof can be measured.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
